Topo50 description
Only a selection of fences are held in the data and shown on the printed maps. They are a representative pattern that indicate general land use and, in isolated areas, to provide landmarks. A fence can be constructed from post and wire, stone, sods or can be low hedges. Fences parallel to roads, tracks, drains and other such features are not held in the data or shown on the maps. Neither are fences through or at the edge of a residential area.
